Every drop of water counts!

Water is not just a natural resource but a right for humans and animals, essential to all aspects of life. It plays an important role in promoting peace or causing conflict.

Lack of or unequal access to water, as well as contamination may lead to tensions and even wars between communities and countries.

Despite the fact that over 3 billion people depend on water that crosses national borders, only 27 countries have signed cooperative agreements on shared water resources.

With the effects of climate change becoming more and more devastating, as we have already experienced them in Greece, the need for cooperation to protect and preserve water resources becomes even more imperative.

The theme of World Water Day 2024 is “Water for Peace”. The goal of the United Nations is to highlight the positive impact of cooperation on water, in promoting harmony, prosperity and resilience to common challenges.

This World Water Day, Veluda invites you to our common effort to protect water resources and universal access to clean and safe water for all, ensuring that no one is left behind.
