Rosewater has beneficial properties for the skin, hair, our body. Apart from moisturizing action has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. People in the old days relied on it to help inflammations, irritations and even stress, digestion, mood. Even nutritionally, rose water contains vitamins A, B, C and E and flavonoids and other antioxidants. You can make your own rose water at home:

Ingredients:

- 2 - 3 roses (1 cup of rose petals).

- 1,5 cups of Veluda filtered water

- 1 bottle or storage spray preferably glass

The roses you choose should be pesticide-free. If you have your own roses collect them in the morning before the sun sees them. Gently remove the petals from the roses. Be sure to clean the rose petals with fresh water to wash away pesticides if you bought them from a florist and insects if you collected them from your garden. Place the pot over medium heat and just before the water boils, add the rose petals. Make sure they are underwater and not floating. Cover the pot and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rose petals lose their colour. Turn off the heat and leave the pot covered until cool. Then strain and store the rosewater in your bottle or glass jar.

You can store it in the fridge for 2-3 weeks and use it as a toner lotion, facial cleanser, etc.

To give your water a light taste, the water to rosewater ratio should be 2:1. And  make sure your water is clean and of good quality!
